President’s Report

Lisa Cranham National President

As the holiday season approaches, I’d like to take a moment to celebrate what an incredible year 2024 has been for the IHHC and to share some exciting updates.

Firstly, Merry Christmas to all our members, supporters and colleagues! This time of year is a chance to pause and celebrate our collective achievements, the bonds we have strengthened and the inspiring work being done across our industry. Your commitment to excellence in hospitality and healthcare is truly appreciated and I hope you all find time to rest, recharge and enjoy the festivities with your loved ones.

One of the highlights of this year was the Perth National Conference in November. What an incredible event! The energy, enthusiasm and camaraderie from delegates and supporters exceeded all expectations. It was inspiring to see so many passionate individuals come together to share knowledge, ideas and innovations that will shape the future of our industry. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making the conference a resounding success, from the organisers to the speakers and everyone in attendance.

We have also seen changes within our leadership this year, particularly in Queensland. I would like to congratulate Brendan Host on his appointment as the new Queensland Chair and Kevin Dunne as the Queensland vice Chair. Both bring tremendous experience and vision to their roles and I look forward to seeing the great work they will accomplish together.

In November the National Board held its final meeting for the year, focusing on planning our upcoming conferences. We are already looking ahead to the Melbourne Conference in 2025 and the Tasmania Conference in 2026. Both events promise to deliver exceptional programs and opportunities to further connect. I encourage everyone to mark these dates in your calendar — these are not to be missed!

As we close out 2024 I want to express my gratitude to our members and supporters. Your passion, dedication and hard work are the foundation of our organisation. Whether you have attended events, contributed to committees or supported your peers, your efforts make a real difference.

On behalf of the National Board I wish you and your families a joyous Christmas filled with love, laughter and relaxation. May the New Year bring continued success, good health and exciting opportunities for all of us.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Warm regards,

LISA CRANHAM National President
