CONFERENCE UPDATE
The IHHC’s 41st National Conference is just a little over a month away – scheduled to be held at Crown Perth in Burswood, WA from 4 – 6 November 2024.
Crown Perth, WA
Our theme this year is “compassionate hospitality – creating a culture of care through innovation” and this has been exemplified through the program of events which you can now review online.
As always, the IHHC National Conference brings together delegates from a range of health, aged care and hospitality organisations, including foodservice managers, executive chefs, support service managers, cleaning, laundry and environmental services managers and other professionals engaged in service delivery to the sector.
Our informative and inspiring program of speakers covering a wide range of topics will be complemented by networking and business opportunities for delegates, supporters and exhibitors at the Conference’s Trade Expo component.
There are also a number of site tours, including of Optus Stadium – providing the chance to see behind the scenes of the amazing facilities there – and a room service implementation tour at St John of God’s Subiaco site. Longtime IHHC Supporter Sunlong Fresh Foods, Perth’s leading wholesale fruit and vegetable services company, has also agreed to open the doors of its brand new factory and demonstrate its innovative meal solutions equipment. You can book these as part of your Conference registration, and for those who have already registered to attend, you can go back into the registration form and add the site tours of your choice.
Michael Wear, MD of Tidal Moon
We are pleased to confirm our third Keynote Speaker for the Conference (joining Professor Fiona Wood and Rob Horstman of EQ Minds, as announced last issue) will be Michael Wear, MD of Tidal Moon which is a collaboration with three Aboriginal communities engaged in training and supporting the next generation of local indigenous people while maintaining cultural heritage and environmental stewardship.
Alistair McLeod MC
A highlight of the Conference will be the third annual IHHC Culinary Competition, which in a break from tradition is being held on opening night. TV’s Alistair McLeod will return to once again act as MC and we are looking forward to an exciting event. You can read more about the Culinary Competition here.
The final night sees our annual Gala Dinner and presentation of the IHHC National Awards for Excellence.
If you’ve not yet registered to attend, sign up now and take advantage of the great accommodation deals at Crown Perth before they book out – why not book an extended stay on the Swan River either side of the Conference? The beaches, wineries and gourmet food offerings of Perth are close enough to enjoy during your visit.
We look forward to you joining us for all this year’s excitement!
